Privacy Policy

Well, we do actually save some data about your downloads, but there is really no way for us to associate that information with you and/or your IP address (and we like it that way).

If you want some more information of what we save about you, read further.

What do we know about you

Basically, nothing. We save just the information we need to allow you to see and resume your last downloads from the point you left them. You can see that feature from the homepage, where you have a history of downloads with percentages near them.

In particular, we save

  • a computer ID (basically a number) which is stored in a cookie on your machine
  • the name of the torrent
  • the name of the directory where you were saving your files
  • a download percentage
  • a few statistics (speed, size and so on)
  • Nothing else :)

In particular, we keep no reference to your hostname, user name, IP address, and we have no way to retrieve them from the computer ID.

If you are still not comfortable with us saving that info, you can browse BitLet with cookies disabled: it will work the same way as before, but you won't have any history.
